The Mountain vs. the Pebble: A Call for Change with Netsuite

The Mountain vs. the Pebble: A Call for Change with Netsuite

Muhammad Ali once said, “It isn’t the mountains ahead to climb that wear you out; it’s the pebble in your shoe.”

Many business leaders look at something like an ERP project as a mountain that is too tall to climb but negate dealing with the pebble in their shoe (the real cause of their issues). If you’re reading this, there’s a fair chance you have a pebble that is hindering your business’s goals and objectives. What is your pebble? Is it obsolete inventory carrying cost? Are your pebbles all of the manual processes and/ or double entry within your organization? Whatever your pebble is, it needs addressing now. Don’t wait.

Unfortunately, there are many organizations that choose to do nothing, which is a costly choice to make. According to a recent study done by Aberdeen Group, there are some significant costs associated with doing nothing at all. The study found key distinctions between companies that chose the mountain and those that chose the pebble. Critical metrics such as customer satisfaction, inventory accuracy and accurate financial reporting saw improvement almost instantaneously. (see chart below)

At Netsuite, we can help you climb that intimidating ERP mountain and transform your business using our philosophy called SuiteSuccess. SuiteSuccess is a culmination of our experiences over the last 20 years. It consists of 4 key areas:

1) A unique customer engagement model - an end-to-end relationship model from pre-sales, through implementation and beyond go-live.

2) Verticalized Solutions with pre-configured leading practices based on the industry you’re in.

3) A more consultative approach to selling.

4) Revamped delivery model designed to accelerate time to value.

We have developed a concrete implementation methodology that ensures better customer satisfaction, quicker user adoption, and fewer change orders. Our phased approach allows companies to consume bite-sized portions of our platform in a systematic, phased approach using our industry-specific Stairway (see financials example below). The old days of “Big Bang” implementations are over – customers hated it, and there was a good chance that much of the functionality would never be used or would fail during implementation. When you switch systems, we want you to leave work on Friday and be able to do your job on the following Monday. We train your administrators and the various roles within your organization (warehouse, finance, order entry, sales, etc). Let us do the heavy lifting to ensure a successful project.

If you’re reading this I implore you to reach out and ask questions. Do research. You may think the mountain is too tall. You may not even know there are pebbles in your shoes and have gotten used to the pain. Even if there isn’t an evaluation in the near future, I think you’ll find a conversation is worth your while, so you’re prepared when it’s time to make a change.

Wise words Mr. Bradley. Muhammad Ali had a way with words that let him transcend boxing and make the world seem that much easier to understand. Thanks for the post bud.
