MotivationMonday #2 : Success is the sum of small efforts repeated over time

If there's one saying I have seen to be true in my life journey so far, it's this : success is the sum of small efforts repeated over time. Two years ago I wasn't a runner, I'm still not a runner BUT I've managed to accumulate some kms to my name. How? By consistent small efforts repeated over time. In 2018 I started by trying out 1km, I had never run a kilometre in my life before. It was painful (yes don't judge me, a kilometre was painful) and I didn't want to do it again but I love myself a challenge so I did it. A year later I was registering for my first ever 21km race! Now to some that may be nothing but to me that's huge!

After that 21km I felt I had run enough to last me a year so I packed away my running shoes, I was done. But two months ago I knew lockdown recipes would have me gaining some extra unwanted weight and with that unfitness levels would rise. So me being me, I challenged myself to start running again but because it had been a while I had to start small. So I started with 3-4km and two months later I've built it up to 6km. From July to date I've run over 90km not by going for it all at once but by being consistent week in week out with my little 3km, 4km, 5km and now 6km twice a week (not even everyday, see how doable it is?). They say the proof is in the pudding so have a look at the attached picture : data doesn't lie. 

Now over to you (yes you!) : in what area of your life do you need to build consistency and repeat small little efforts until you get to your bigger goal? Start small you'll be less overwhelmed.
