8 年Having an educator in my life (my wife of 30+years ) allows me a unique opportunity to see first hand the atmosphere of political recriminations and back stabbing that is today's high school. Quick change administration following the trend of the day and too many layers of management result in students without the key stones of a successful career. Personal responsibility for their own actions and an ability to make basic measurements with a ruler or tape measure or change for a five dollar bill without a calculator. The understanding of basic communication, spelling, talking on the phone without attitude and note taking are at the minimum amount of skills that all students regardless of level or disability should master. I love the computer as a sharper pencil and have worked with them for more than 25 years but the computer is unable to explain about the cloud, I must read the information. Regardless of the methods of instruction students must leave school with a functional set of skills or we are failing them .
