Mother's Day: An Entrepreneur's POV

This year, I proudly celebrate 15 years as a business owner; I have designed a life I love. I'm the first in my family to venture into full-time entrepreneurship. My journey through school and young adulthood was adventurous and unconventional. My mother valued education, while I sought work experience. Despite her uncertainty about my path, she always provided the love and space I needed to follow my own direction.
At 16, she allowed me to take my first job at Disneyland, 24 miles from our hometown of Corona, CA. This experience was transformative, and her unwavering support set the foundation for my success today. As a single mom, she made substantial decisions that shaped the future for me and my two sisters.
Beyond my first job at Disneyland, I have had many more experiences, and through it all, she's remained a constant. Even when she worried, she cheered me on as I gave it my best shot. Her encouragement and unwavering "you can do anything" attitude have paved my way through every win and every failure.
Today, I honor my mother, grandmother, and aunt for raising us three girls with love and dedication. My career and the life I've built are a testament to their collective support. My privilege was having unconditional love and a place to dream.
Cheers to all the moms, aunts, and dads doing double duty raising children. I am forever grateful for my upbringing and my beautiful life in Corona.
Sincerely,
Margaret
