MOTHER EARTH POEM Hopes and Dreams.

Oh, mother earth, I?treasure?you.

You have been motherly and incredible to me.
You have showered me with free inner, superficial tender love and appreciation.
You have fed me extensively with balanced nutrition to support my feeble health.
You have offered me free generous natural springs to drink.
You have supplied calming wind, rain and sunshine to nurture and smoothen my melanin skin and voluminous black afro hair.

?Oh, mother earth, I?adore?you.

You have guarded me against the hungry lions, buffalos, rhinoceros, elephants, leopards, black mamba snakes, crocodiles, tsetse flies, mosquitos and hyenas of the African Savanna grassland.
You have saved me from deadly giant hornets, fat-tail scorpions and fleshy jaws of Asian tigers.
You have protected me from Gila monster, wild dogs, inland taipan, ostrich, western diamondback rattlesnakes, killer bees, bed back spiders in the Middle East.
You have insulated me from the cold and hypothermia and preserved me from deadly bacteria, fungus and viruses in Europe.
You have salvaged me from the lethal blue-ringed octopus, beaked sea snakes, stonefish, great white sharks and whales crossing the Atlantic Ocean.
You have shielded me from the black bear, alligators, cougars, polar bears, wolves across gorgeous North America.

?Oh, mother earth, I?cherish?you.

You have protected me from deadly biological pandemics, natural and artificial disasters.
You have boosted my immune health system with nutritious natural foods, fruits, roots and vegetables.
You have strengthened my bones and skin with free vitamin D.
You have supported my muscles with the power of magnificent slopes and hills.
You have reloaded my life with free oxygen from the breath of your lovely vegetation.
You have forgiven me for making ridiculous decisions, have been dependable, and provided comfort.

Oh, mother earth, I?value?you.

You blaze my days with the glimmering rainbow colours.
You inspire my evening with a great view of kaleidoscopic horizons at sunset.
You uplift my night with darkness, lovely melody songs from birds, owls, frogs, dogs and coyotes.
You surround me with the sparkling blanket of stunning stars on my face as I doze.
You uplift me through the power of dreams, keeping me sane and cheerful.
You take control of my worn-out body as I lay asleep.
You brighten my spirit with a never-failing dawn sunrise.

?Oh, mother earth, I?hero-worship?you.

You have carried the burden of birthing over seven billion distinctive and beautiful children.
You have mourned billions of your loved ones over the century.
You have lost many innocent children, mothers, fathers but haven't given up.
You are maltreated by dictators, oppressors and cruel political leaders who malnourish your children but you are always assertive in offering maternal devotion.
You have never given up guarding your children against political, civil and tribal wars.
You always watch your children from genocide and crimes against humanity.
You always forgive the invaders and killings of your innocent children.
Your land has faced tremendous calamities from volcanoes, tornadoes, lightning strikes, extreme heat and cold, wildfires, floods, and landslides,
but still sturdy.

?Oh, mother earth,?I LOVE YOU!

You have given me another day to face the toxic world positively and with true courage and hope.
You have given me another day to grin in the bright sunshine glares.
You have given me another day to value the fresh air and oxygen.
You have given me another day to appreciate the tax-free rain showers.
You have given me another day to socialise with your incredible seven billion children.
You have given me another day to suck on your earthly breasts full of great foods, fruits, roots and natural juices.
You have given me another day to enjoy the freshwaters from your virgin springs, rivers, lakes and oceans.
You have given me another day to paddle through the healing rivers, lakes and oceans.
You have given me another day to keep watching the natural beauty of your wildlife.
You have given me another day to demonstrate and share true?Love,?Peace?and?Unity.
You have given me another day to age and die gracefully without regrets.
You have given me another day to sit down, be peaceful and write-down
my lifetime poem.

I enjoyed learning about the ways in which Mother Earth appears to you, and how you value her! I like seeing poetry in this somewhat clinical forum of Linked In. Makes is more human.

Beautiful capture of the Earth's beauty...in all its imperfections, it still nourishes. Life is a gift. Thanks for sharing Samuel R.
