“You should learn Portuguese.”
This is what a friend told me about my now life partner when she saw what I wrote under a video about our connection when we danced and the intimacy we felt together.?
He spoke Portuguese. And I didn’t.
When I met Nelson, it wasn’t love at first sight. It was a gradual process of building trust and safety through soulful connection, which led to intimacy and, ultimately, opening up to divine love.
There was something magical there from the beginning. We could both feel it. But after our first dance, we went our separate ways because neither of us was looking for anything.
Here’s the story I’ve been waiting to share. It’s a story about how my journey with Mother Aya opened me up to the love of my life.
I met Nelson at a Kizomba dance class. There was immediate intimacy and connection between us. We felt each other. It was just magical. And we then left class, and that was it.
The following week, he was back in the same class. Later on, he told me he came to look for me so he could dance with me again.?
It had been a rough day. I was overloaded and had a hard time letting go from thinking to feeling. When I saw Nelson in class, ?I could feel his expectation, and it stressed me out. I was a beginner at Kizomba.?
That’s a lot of pressure for a beginner.?
We started dancing.
“Precisas de relaxar um pouco.”
I understood what he was saying because it was similar to Spanish. He whispered, “You need to relax a little bit.”
He read me so perfectly.?
After that, I ran into him every month or so, ?in dance class and at places where we could dance socially. And every time we danced, we grew closer, whether we liked it or not.?
Whenever I posted a video of us dancing on Instagram, everyone would be all over it. The connection and intimacy were so special.?
Yet, I didn't see this as anything that could turn into something. He spoke Portuguese. I didn't. I wasn’t sure who he was, and I didn't even know if we had a similar life to make a relationship work.?
Things shifted after my Ayahuasca journeys in April. ?I came to Peru to work on various things. One of them was healing what was blocking me in love.?
The maestra assigned me the plant dieta of sigueme sigueme for abundance and love, and of ajosache?for cleaning as I prepared my body as a sacred, purified space.
In one of the ceremonies, I asked Mother Aya:?“Help me heal what is blocking me in love.”?This was my intention for the ceremony.?
What came after were beautiful insights that helped me clear what was sabotaging me in love.
?I was shown by Mother Aya that ?I struggled to get attached to someone in a healthy way.
Mother Aya made me feel that someone could receive me as I am, yet I had to…
