This week is all about packing lists. A mom friend was 24 hours out from a trip with her kiddos and hadn't started packing yet because…life. So I told her to give me a chance to put together a detailed packing list for the entire family, which includes her husband and 4 kids ranging from 2-11.
Here we go!
AI Tool: Bard because it allows me to export right to a Google doc that I can print out or in this case share directly with her
Prompt: Create a detailed packing list for [x] days for [x] adults who are parents and [x] kids - [add ages] where kid [insert? conditions to be considered like diapers, formula etc].? Include how many outfits for each day and list out items organized by category clothes, toiletry, electronics and what should be in a carryon bag.?
Output: see detailed output here
Success:? my friend's take: "I think that this is a good base. I think anyone would go through it and modify it based on how they like to travel or add specific items, but this really is a really strong base".? I count this as a win because having something in hand to review and edit can oftentimes be better and faster than starting from scratch
Let me know in the comments what other types of lists you want or need!
Summer may be over but these lists can be used for trips to visit family, day trips or even preparing for school outings.
