Mostly Harmless? - TV Antennas

Sometimes people are afraid of what they cannot understand. It's not a bad thing. In fact, it's a psychological defense mechanism that keeps people out of harm's way. Let me clarify why Radio & TV antennas are essentially harmless. I say "essentially" only because you can use an antenna to physically beat someone. Please don't.

The radio waves created or received by an antenna are harmless. They pass right through you with long wavelengths and very little energy.

So if radio waves are harmless what invisible waves are dangerous?

Start with Gamma rays. They have so much energy in their miniscule wavelength that if they hit your DNA they can move it, changing or damaging its structure. Genetic mutations like these often mean the cell grows uncontrolled; cancerous.

X rays can energize particles forming free radicals, particles that are so reactive they stick to anything, causing the cell in question to die or mutate.

UV, ultra-violet, just kills the cells.

Microwaves, stand in front of them too long and the water in your body will start to boil.
