Ghana’s Cabinet Approves Shared Neutral 4G and 5G Networks For Telecommunication Operators

Ghana’s cabinet has approved the establishment of shared neutral 4G and 5G networks for all telecommunications operators in the country to enhance Internet connectivity. “The government will auction the 5G spectrum since it is one or two companies that can buy such spectrum,” Minister of Communications, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, stated.


TikTok Signs Partnership with Africa Union On Online Safety For African Youth

Government to license Starlink to operate in Ghana – Ursula Owusu-Ekuful

The Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has announced the government’s plan to license the satellite internet network Starlink to operate in Ghana stating it was part of the government’s efforts to address the internet disruption in the country.The ministry had in December 2023 cautioned the public to desist from purchasing items from Starlink?since it was not licensed in Ghana.


Can The Average Ghanaian Afford Starlink’s Services? We Did The Math.

There’s been a lot of discussion between Ghanaians about using Starlink, especially after the internet outage that occurred on March 14th. Currently, the Standard and High performance Starlink device kit costs $599 and $2500 respectively, the standard, coming with a monthly subscription fee of $120. It means the regular user of Starlink in Ghana would have to budget ~9000 GHC for the first-month of usage of the Starlink service and subsequently ~1500 GHC every month. Can you afford that?

Akufo-Addo to launch One Student, One Tablet for SHS on March 25

President Nana Akufo-Addo will on Monday, March 25, launch the much heralded One Student, One Tablet initiative for Senior High School students. The initiative, aimed towards advancing computer literacy and technological know-how of young Ghanaian students, will see the government providing pre-programmed laptops to each SHS student across the county.
