Nadella mentioned the importance of avoiding surprises and the necessity for governance changes at OpenAI, stressing that Microsoft should be kept in the loop about such changes. He humorously avoided answering who would be OpenAI's CEO the next day, leaving it to OpenAI and its board.

?OpenAI’s board of directors approached Dario Amodei, the co-founder and CEO of rival large-language model developer Anthropic, about a potential merger of the two companies, said a person with direct knowledge.

?Emmett Shear, previously the CEO of Twitch, has stepped in as the new CEO of OpenAI. The new CEO owns a significant amount of Anthropic shares and is going to negotiate a merger.
