The Most Tweeted Debate In the History of Tweeted Debates
Last night’s presidential debate was hands down the most tweeted political debate ever. In the world of Twitter, that’s kind of a big deal. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton lashed it out for 90 minutes, while 30 million tweets were tweeted. Once the candidates literally set the stage without no handshake – cue trending hashtag #nohandshake – Trump soon apologized for his previous lewd comment – calling it “locker room talk” – from a video leaked of him saying because of his fame, he could “grab women by the pu**y.” A few more lashes at Clinton about her abusive husband (Bill “Potential First Man” Clinton) with Clinton counter-attacking about Trump “being fit for president.” Trump then alerts Muslims to call authorities to signs of dangerous activities, and voila cue Muslim college professor’s trending tweet:
Trump definitely dominated Twitter over Clinton and some researchers say he had the most negative sentiments. Surprised or nah? And then the two candidates once more revisited the topic of war. Cue another tweet from Clinton’s foreign policy spokesperson regarding Trump’s comment about Humayun Khan (U.S. army captain in Iraq that died from a loaded car explosion), that he would still be alive if he were president:
Jesse Lehrich is Clinton’s foreign policy spokesperson - yes the one that just tweeted go f$%# yourself. Phew what a night. You can’t make this stuff up. For those keeping score on the debate it was was a resounding loss for America. We think it’s a good time to plug in our What Happens in Vegas Stays on YouTube book, because honestly these two could use it. (Source: CNET)
Ken Bone, “The Man”
If you haven’t heard about Ken Bone yet, you will. My friend Kenny boy over here pretty much stole the presidential candidate’s spotlights. At the end of the debate, Bone stood up and asked how the candidates would “meet America's energy needs while minimizing layoffs and still being environmentally friendly.” It was a nice break from the ongoing heat coming from the two candidates. You could say the Internet fell in love with him and his ultimate attire of a red cardigan, white tie and black-rimmed glasses. "I went from, last night, having seven Twitter followers, two of which were my grandmother...to now, I have several hundred," Bone said. "And I don't know why they care what I have to say, but I'm glad they're engaged in the political process." Aww Ken, you stole our heart. (Source: CNN, Mashable)

Taking a selfie while high-fiving yourself of course! Disclaimer: We’re not reliable for any selfie accidents, such as your phone breaking or your phone breaking your face. This trending feat goes to Seth Schneider. You’re the real MVP Seth. After his high-fiving selfie photo took on Twitter, others enjoyed it so much they tried it themselves.
