”Most sensible thing ever said about the protests” “Don’t just protest, first place the reasons before the public”

Agitation by the farmers against the three Farm Acts has been going on for two months. Rounds after rounds of negotiations have taken place between the Farmers unions and the Govt but without any outcome.

No need to mention that these agitations have costed the country quite dearly directly as well as indirectly.

To protest, is a right enshrined in the Constitution of the country which is perfectly fine. However, in the interest of the nation, this right must be exercised responsibly.

Now after the farmers’ agitation, it is understood that even the LIC Employees’ Union as well as the Banking employees’ Union will also be staging protest which again will cause huge loss to the economy as well as uncalled for inconvenience.

I remember, more than 2 decades ago when the talks were on about computerization of the Banks many of these Unions went on strike claiming that computerization will snatch away employment of people. However the fact is that in last two decades banks have been significant job creators and computerization has led to tremendous convenience for the people at large.

Therefore, the time has come when people of the country should demand justification in advance from anyone who wishes to go on protest.

Accordingly, the Farmers Union should give a clause by clause explanation in the newspapers as to what is their protest in against of.

Likewise, the LIC Employees’ Union as well as the Banking employees’ Union should publish reasons for their objection against the sale of part of LIC and two PSU Banks. Because, people of the country have a right to know as to why are they being put to uncalled for inconvenience.

This will also help bring clarity in the minds of the protesting people as to how justified or unjustified their protests are.
