"The most regretful people on earth are those who felt the call to creative work, who felt their own creative power restive and uprising, and gave to it neither power nor time." - Mary Oliver
We all have creative impulses. For some of us, these impulses are like a nagging itch that we can't quite scratch. For others, they're more like a roaring bonfire that threatens to consume us if we don't pay attention. But whether our creative urges are subtle or overwhelming, most of us choose to ignore them. Why? Because pursuing a creative life is hard work. It's scary, and it's often thankless. But the people who regret not following their creative impulses are usually the ones who feel called to creative work—the ones who know, deep down, that they have something special to offer the world. If you're one of those people, this blog post is for you.
How many times have you heard someone say they wish they had followed their dreams? I bet it's more than you can count. We've all been there; at a crossroads in our lives, wondering what could have been. But what if we had taken that risk? What if we had followed our bliss?
Unfortunately, too often we let fear get in the way of our dreams. We allow other people's opinions to hold us back. We convince ourselves that our dream is impractical or impossible. So we give up before we even start.
Or worse, we go through the motions day after day, year after year, living a life of quiet desperation because we didn't have the courage to pursue our passion. What a tragic waste of a human life!
If you're not living your dream life today, it's not too late to make a change. It's never too late to follow your bliss and see where it takes you. You might just be surprised at how far you can go.
Why You Should Follow Your Bliss
"Your time is limited, don't waste it living someone else's life." - Steve Jobs
We only have one life to live, so why not make it count? If you're not happy with your current situation, make a change. Life is too short to settle for anything less than your best. And frankly, you deserve better than that. Go out and get what you want out of life!
Of course, it's not always easy to take that first step towards following your bliss. It can be scary to put yourself out there and go after what you want. But trust me, it's worth it.
Here's why
When you follow your bliss, opportunities will open up for you that you never thought possible. Once you start down the path of your dreams, new doors will open and new possibilities will present themselves. When you take that leap of faith and pursue what makes you happy, the universe will conspire to help you achieve your goals. All sorts of positive things will come into your life when you start following your bliss.
In addition, following your bliss will help you find fulfillment in your work. Too often, people end up in jobs they hate because they took the safe route instead of taking a chance on their dreams. But when you do what you love, work doesn't feel like work anymore. You'll be so passionate about what you're doing that it won't even feel like a job! Instead, it will be a joy and a pleasure to wake up every day and do what you love.
Finally, when you follow your bliss, you'll inspire others around you to do the same. It can be contagious! When people see how happy and fulfilled you are in your work, they'll want that for themselves too. You never know; by following your dreams, you might just inspire others to do the same.
Don't let fear hold you back from following your bliss. Life is too short to settle for anything less than your best. When you take that leap of faith and pursue what makes you happy, amazing things will happen! You'll find fulfillment in your work, inspire those around you, and open up possibilities you never thought possible. So go out there and chase your dreams!
