??Veggie McPlant Nuggets hit McDonald's France

Produced by Beyond Meat, Veggie McPlant Nuggets roll out into McDonald's 1,560 restaurants across France. The nuggets are made from pea protein and are available at the same price as McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets.

??Simulate is acquired by Ahimsa Companies

“Ahimsa is very values-aligned, and they’ve been committed to this space and mission for a long time,” Sam Terris, co-founder and CEO at Simulate, informed vegconomist. “We were looking for a partner that balances pragmatism and optimism — a group that could help get alt protein economics to work on a large scale, while also willing to invest in higher upside technology."




??Oatly asks Brits to try it in tea

Shortly before the launch of Oatly’s campaign, UK oat milk brand PureOaty (owned by Glebe Farm) came up with a similar idea, launching a new product specifically designed for use in tea. The two companies were previously embroiled in a legal battle over the use of the name "Oaty" which the Swedish company said was a copyright infringement.

The new funding round brings the total amount the French pork alternative brand has raised over the past three years to €50 million.

??Uobo secures funds, partners with CUBIQ

The new funding will be used to develop new products and expand operations. This January, the startup launched liquid plant-based eggs for food service, which have garnered impressive feedback. The product, made with canola and potato protein, is said to replace eggs in multiple dishes, from omelets to pastries, while offering an authentic taste.

??PBFA campaign unites brands in a common cause

The “May Cause” campaign, is a landmark initiative that unites leading plant-based giants such as NotCo, Impossible Foods, Beyond Meat, and many more, representing the largest-ever cross-category collaboration of plant-based brands, all working to promote the benefits of a plant-based diet, says the PBFA.

??New Impossible product launches

The new offerings include Impossible? Disney The Lion King Chicken Nuggets, Impossible? Meal Makers, and Impossible? Corn Dogs. The company continues to grow its presence in the plant-based meat sector, where it claims to currently hold the second-largest market share in the US.

??One Planet Pizza lands 2nd major supermarket deal

Much-loved UK pizza brand rolls its Tex Mex pizza, said to be a frozen category first, into Morrison's supermarkets, following 41% YOY growth at Asda.
