Welcome to The Mind Gym - your 3 minute weekly mental workout to elevate your mind
Warm-Up:
Health is the real wealth. Make sure today you get some fresh air, exercise, eat nutritiously and get a good nights sleep.
Main Exercise:?
I have worked out?the?world's most motivating force: PROGRESS.
Progress is what drives us. We go to?the?gym, we see our muscles forming, that's what keeps us coming back. We read a chapter of a book, we see ourselves advancing through?the pages, so we read more. We play tennis each week and see ourself?improve - that’s satisfying. We see our follower number rising, so we keep posting content.
But it's near impossible to get?daily progress in external measures, like your gym gains, the number of books you read, your sporting ability and your follower count.?You'll always encounter setbacks and bad weeks. The trick is to continue despite this.?
Here are a couple of tips?that have helped me to keep my progress on track regardless?of any natural dips in my journey.?
1. Zoom out and look at your progress over, say 3 months. When you take a step back, you realise that actually you're on a great trajectory and that you've come a long way towards?achieving?your goals.
2. On a daily basis, write down 3 simple and easy things you can do each day that will move you forwards on your goals (but are not tied to the external world.) Eg post once a day, workout for 20 mins, read 10 pages of a book. Try to focus and measure your?progress based on whether you do those things - instead of external measures you can't control.

Mindset PT Top Tip:?
I have been following Oliver Burkeman’s ideas around productivity - he suggests we embrace and accept the limits of our time. That we won’t have time to meet everyone we want to, complete all the projects we desire etc. Generally, we desperately try to squish more into the same amount of time - and how successful we are at this is how we define productivity. Oliver has a different approach.?
He says: What if we organised our days with the understanding that we definitely won’t have time for everything we want to do? That way we may finally stop beating ourselves up for being ‘unproductive’ or ‘failing.’
Warm-Down:
Look around at the environments where you spend the most time. Are they conducive with your goals? How can you set them up to create better habits??
