Daikin Industries, Ltd. has invested in Advanced Composite Corporation by underwriting a capital increase through a third-party share allocation. This strategic partnership aims to enhance HVAC&R equipment with lightweight and high-strength materials.
Advanced Composite, known for its aluminum-based metal matrix composites and metal joining technology, collaborates with Daikin to improve compressor performance - a crucial component in HVAC&R systems. These composites provide cast iron-like strength while retaining aluminum's lightweight qualities. Their molten metal forging technology ensures low-cost aluminum composite production, which Daikin plans to use for compressor parts, reducing weight and power consumption, leading to energy savings.
Thermo King, a leader in transport temperature control solutions and a brand under Trane Technologies, is set to present its latest advancements in refrigerated container technology at Intermodal Europe 2024, held in Rotterdam. At Stand B20, Thermo King will showcase innovations aimed at increasing efficiency, sustainability, and reliability for cold chain transport, emphasizing solutions that reduce food loss and carbon emissions across shipping, intermodal, and stationary applications.
Hitema International is proud to unveil the SBS-R32.1030, a new air-cooled chiller designed to meet high-performance standards while adhering to environmental regulations.
The SBS-R32.1030 utilizes R32 refrigerant, a low GWP gas compliant with F-Gas regulations, addressing the growing need for industries to reduce their carbon footprint. This chiller combines efficiency with eco-friendliness, offering a sustainable solution.
Sono Group N.V. has launched an innovative solar-powered refrigeration system for trailers, aiming to revolutionize sustainable logistics and reduce emissions in the transport sector. Building on positive feedback from the IAA Transportation 2024, the technology uses semi-flexible photovoltaic modules and a proprietary solar charge controller to optimize energy use, providing up to 3-4 hours of independent power daily.
The solar solution promises a solid return on investment, with a payback period of about three years depending on location and usage. By reducing fuel dependence and operating costs, it helps fleet operators minimize downtime and hedge against fluctuating energy prices, positioning their fleets as leaders in eco-friendly logistics.
Lennox, a global leader in energy-efficient climate control, has launched Lennox Data Centre Solutions, a new business unit dedicated to meeting the unique cooling demands of data centres across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). This move aims to deliver innovative, sustainable cooling solutions tailored to the data centre industry's rapid expansion, projected to grow at a 9.1% CAGR through 2030.
