Daikin has introduced the ERA range of condensing units, designed to provide energy-efficient climate control while using the lower Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerant R-32. The new units maintain the performance benefits of R-410A while contributing to reduced environmental impact.
The global geothermal heat pump market is projected to grow by USD 6.48 billion between 2025 and 2029, according to a report by Technavio. The market is expected to register a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.9% during the forecast period. Key factors driving this growth include the increasing demand for energy-efficient solutions and the rising adoption of Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS).
Geothermal heat pumps (GHPs) offer significant operational advantages over conventional heating and cooling systems, including energy savings and environmental benefits. The technology uses the earth’s natural heat to warm buildings in the winter and provide cooling in the summer. Closed-loop and horizontal system configurations are particularly popular due to their efficiency and durability.
Midea Group has finalized its acquisition of ARBONIA climate, a division of ARBONIA AG, for an enterprise value of €760 million. The deal, announced on February 26, 2025, strengthens Midea’s position in the European HVAC market.
Following the acquisition, Midea will integrate ARBONIA climate with Clivet S.p.A., which it acquired in 2016, to form a new entity called MBT Climate. This combined structure will enhance Midea’s ability to offer comprehensive heating, cooling, ventilation, and energy storage solutions across Europe.
