The most popular answers to your most burning questions of 2020

I wanted to start this year with a look back at the newsletters and posts you found most interesting and useful last year. And then? I want to hear more about what you want to know about this year. In fact, why don’t you email me right now with a question or challenge that’s on your mind?

First, let’s take a look at the top articles of 2020:

What is the Red Thread, anyway, and how do you use it? This was my basic introduction to the most common meanings and applications of the phrase “red thread” and how they relate to the Red Thread? my work is all about.

Presenting virtually? Here’s a checklist to make it great. Ah, virtual presenting, the skill of 2020. This ended up being so popular, in fact, that I turned it into a workshop for a couple of different companies. (Would that be helpful at yours? Let’s talk!)

An idea is an answer. Do you know the question? Who doesn’t love a good rant? This was a post that was brewing in my head for a while about why starting with your business’s “why” isn’t the right place to start, at least when it comes to talking to people outside of your organization. Apologies to Simon Sinek. ??

What’s the best way to make a case for masks? This is another one where the subject was obviously very driven by what we’ve been going through together for most of the past year. That said, the broader lessons here are useful any time you’re trying to make the case for compliance (whether that’s for filling out forms, following procedure… or wearing masks).

17 must-have books on messaging A list of my favorite, most influential, and most-referenced books. Maybe some of them ended up on your shelves, too!

How to explain your idea in 30 seconds or less I’m expanding the “top 5” to the “top 6” with this one, because, well, I wanted to. It also starts to reflect I trend I’m seeing with some of my most popular overall posts: people’s need for practical ways to translate the importance of their ideas into English people understand.

Now, I want to hear from you. What do you want more of? What do you want less of? Email me and let me know!
