MOST PEOPLE MAKE NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS EVERY YEAR, BUT FIND IT DIFFICULT TO KEEP THEM. WHAT IS THE WAY OUT?

The first point of emphasis is to remark that many people confuse mere wishes with resolutions. A wish is a weak desiring, which usually fades out with the first challenge; while a resolution should be a serious act of expression of one’s spiritual will-power, out of genuine conviction. In other words, a resolution must have a deeply stirring inner content which will carry the burning sustaining fire to see it through its accomplishment.

The starting point for a sustainable resolution is to avail oneself of the Living Word of Truth, which then will reveal to one the purpose of an earth life. It is the knowledge of the purpose of one’s earth life that will form an inner basis for evolving a truly so called resolution.

In this sense, it will dawn on man that the best resolution to evolve is to truly and consciously live in accordance with the Will of God Almighty, expressed in what we see as the Laws of Creation. The Laws of Creation; namely: (a) The Law of Reciprocal Action or the Law of Sowing and Reaping; (b) The Law of Attraction of Homogeneous Species or the Law that shows that Like Attracts Like; and thirdly, (c) The Law of Spiritual Gravity, showing that the deeds or actions of man carry spiritual weight- either light or heavy in nature and results in either uplifting or debasing the soul of man.

Equipped with this knowledge, man’s resolution to live aright would then become a natural daily experiencing, not something to visit every January or at the beginning of each year.

If one puts these principles into his daily habits then he would bring about a sustainable inner resolution which will guide his steady progression in spiritual maturity. This would also then become a natural part of man, not an act to be performed once a year.
