The Most Overlooked Travel Purchase

If you’re anything like me, you insure your cars, home, jewelry, pets, and more. While this type of insurance seems almost imperative, many travelers don’t give the same thought to insurance when investing in travel.

Though not required for clients of Bell & Bly Travel, we truly believe travel protection is a must during these times. Here are just a few examples of how real life clients have benefited from insurance policies in the past couple years:

• One family planned a $90k trip of a lifetime to Italy. The wife tested positive for Covid the day before the trip. Because they were insured, they were able to wait until she tested negative, head to Italy to pick up on their trip, and claim for the portion they missed.
• One client had nearly $100k invested into attending a major international sporting event when an imperative work project came up. He was able to use Travelex’s “cancel for business reasons” to cancel and be reimbursed (we will advise on which policy is right for you - some allow this when you are the CEO/owner of the company and some do not).
• Another client planned to visit Costa Rica with his younger children when sadly his older child had a skiing accident. Travel insurance covers your cancellation when a non-traveling family member gets sick or injured.
• Many of our younger clients purchase policies to cover their trips in case of their older parents falling ill or needing help during the trip.
• Finally, the right policy can act as your primary care health insurance while traveling. If you get injured or sick while traveling this adds so much peace of mind.
