Most Meaningful Mandate Ever - Promoting Peace with our Neighbors

Ray Dalio recently declared there’s a 35% or even 40% chance of a civil war in the US.? Many observing the current drastic state of political polarization ripping our country apart might agree as here: “’There’s reason to be very worried.’? Will political polarization tear America apart?”

The hedge-fund billionaire created the world’s largest hedge fund Bridgewater using innovative top down approach to asset allocation that incorporates trenchant macro-economic analysis. Recently retired he currently spends his time researching what’s next and sharing it for the benefit of investors.? Principles for Dealing with the Changing World Order Why Nations Succeed and Fail explains how, historically, empires have risen and fallen through a combination of factors. He argues that the United States may be in a process of decline, and we need to be alert to the implications.? Afterall who wants a war in their backyard.? Not the citizens of Manteca.

In Meaningful Mandates we attempt to identify meaning beyond money and purpose in the process of pursuing magnificent wealth for our ultra-high net worth clients and the communities they serve.? As we commemorate this year’s International Day of Peace held on September 21, 2024; we realize there may be no more meaningful mandate than promoting peace in era of extreme political polarization.?

Manteca Interfaith Community Appeal enables our divers Faith Communities to collectively address the collective challenges confronting our community.? For example, we collaborate to raise funds for the unhoused children in the Manteca Unified School District.?? Here is an example one of our events in this regard: Manteca Interfaith Community Appeal donates $4,000 in gift cards, T-shirts for homeless kids.

For this year’s International Day of Peace, we invited the citizens of Manteca to summon love using the sacred Writings of our respective Faith traditions.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’? This is the first and greatest commandment.? And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’?All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” - Matthew 22:37-40

…ye must show forth tenderness and love to every human being, even to your enemies, and welcome them all with unalloyed friendship, good cheer, and loving-kindness. ?…To the spears and arrows rained upon you, expose your breasts for a target mirror-bright; and in return for curses, taunts and wounding words, show forth abounding love. Additionally, we held a workshop using Braver Angels Depolarizing within workshop to help citizens how to have conversations that connect across the political divide.? The event was very well received.? Afterall the costs of a civil war are entirely too devastating to let emerge without a concerted effort to counteract.? Led by Manteca’s Mayor Gary (Gurminder) Singh and leading clergy from our community’s various Faith Communities the citizens of Manteca practiced constructive conversations with their political opposites in ways that led to greater love understanding and cooperation.?
