Most Magical Gift for You ??

Most Magical Gift for You ??

Last Saturday, my husband, daughter, and I wandered through Zurich’s magical Christmas market. If you’ve been in Switzerland for a while, you might agree—these markets are sometimes underrated.

But when you pause, really pause, you notice it…?the twinkling lights that make the city glow, the smell of roasted chestnuts wafting through the air, and the sound of laughter as families huddle around steaming cups of Glühwein.

My daughter, Sophia, loves these moments. She never seems to grow tired of them?—?whether it’s this year, last year, or the year before.???To her, it’s always new. Always magical.

She would stop to admire the small shops, her eyes wide with wonder at handmade ornaments or tiny trinkets. She’d insist on walking hand-in-hand as we explored, tugging us along like it’s the first time she’s ever seen it all. And when we paused to watch people glide across the ice rink, their laughter echoing through the crisp air, she just stood there, fully in the moment.

That night, as I observe my daughter, it felt like I got dusted over with the ‘magic of Christmas’ once again.??

You see,?children see life differently. They don’t rush through things, ticking boxes or worrying about what’s next. They stop. They marvel. They soak it all in. I’d like to believe they have within them the most magical gift of all… being present. Living in the moment.

But as adults, living in the moment takes effort. It’s not that we don’t want to—we just get caught up in the busyness of life. Work deadlines, holiday preparations, endless to-do lists. And before we know it, the magic slips past us …

So how do we reclaim that magic? How do we live in the moment again?

The answer, I believe, lies in gratitude.

Gratitude slows us down. It shifts our focus from what’s missing to what’s already here. It’s about noticing the little joys:

The warmth of a cup of coffee on a cold morning.

The sound of a loved one’s laughter.

The comfort of a quiet evening at home.

When we practice gratitude, we start to see life the way children do—with wonder, appreciation, and presence.

Here’s a simple way to bring gratitude into your day:

1. Take 2 minutes to reflect on something you’re grateful for—big or small.

2. Imagine life without it. How would it feel to lose that joy?

3. Let that gratitude settle in, even for a moment.

And if you’re looking for a meaningful way to embrace this perspective or share it with others, our Power Cards are the perfect gift this season. These cards are designed to help you slow down, reflect, and reconnect with what truly matters—one thoughtful question at a time.

Because sometimes, the greatest gifts aren’t things. They’re the moments we create, the presence we share, and the joy of seeing life through new eyes.

Wishing you a holiday season full of wonder and gratitude,
