The most inspiring cities in the world?

Do you sometimes wonder, where should you go next? What is out there to explore? Which city is the next I want to discover?

Well, I know - this might sometimes get tiring. Barcelona or Berlin, Amsterdam or Stockholm, what about Vienna, or Valencia? No better London, although I have been there. Why not Bruges, Salzburg or Reykjavik for a change? Or Miami, Helsinki or Chiang Mai to spark your imagination.

Questions over questions. How to choose best? That's why our data team took time and researched for many weeks to come up with the 2016 ranking of the most inspiring cities in the world.

We looked at exactly 85 cities.

To better understand these locations we decided to break down the individual factors which make a city inspiring. Quantifying something like inspiration certainly isn’t easy, but eventually, we settled on eight separate criteria which are associated with the spirit of creativity, romance, culture, and innovation.
