Always keep meetings efficient and goal-oriented:
Before each meeting, ask if the meeting is even needed. If the meeting is determined to be absolutely necessary, set no more than three clear goals at the beginning. Throughout the meeting, have one person responsible for guiding everyone back toward those goals if people veer off topic. At the end of the meeting, send out notes about the meeting that include action items and owners for each item.

6 年A meeting should have an agenda sent out with the invite, just so people can come prepared and raise whether it is necessary beforehand. Only those needed for the type of meeting (discovery, evaluation or decision) should be invited, as each type draws upon a different group of people.

6 年Hey Kyle, I like your input here. I've done similar with clients, tasking action items and who owns it. What do you do if a client does not follow through on action items from meeting? Particularly a client who is paying for your service.

6 年In my experience most meetings are necessary. Meeting with a client instills trust and camaraderie, which can stem referrals from said client.
