Now with a sample size of 30 people + the resumes and interviews I’ve been doing in my day job for 15 year, these are the most common mistakes I see. Usually when I point them out the response is “of course, how did I not see this”.

The reason these mistakes are made is usually due to one reason:

Ooft, SO good ?? I'm currently going through 787 Business Analyst resumes/cover letters, all applicants to one role; whilst I know all 787 would be capable to some degree, it's difficult to filter through so much information to find the crux of who they are, what they want, and what they are capable of. Not just looking for if they can do the job, but if there is behaviourlly an alignment to the culture, an appetite for growth and collaboration - these can be seen in a well written CV or cover letter and make all the difference to an application.

btw most people need help on their CV. I find the people who need the most help are the Snr peeps who have just kept the same format and added jobs as they go and then they send over a 10 page doc that is poor formatted and its all very meh! So tell me how good you are - because I can't help everyone for free and I need to find someone to send them to!
