Most business leaders agree that generative AI will lower business costs and increase revenue

Generative AI could add up to $4.4 trillion annually to global economy, this according to the latest?research?from McKinsey.?Research?on generative AI's impact on future of work also reveals that AI has the potential to automate 40% of the average work day. One example of productivity gains of using?generative AI in marketing?predicts that marketers can save one month a year by using this technology. Most industries are recognizing the power of AI to improve the customer experience. One example is the?financial industry- financial services customers are switching providers for a better digital experience. In the past year alone, 25% of customers switched banks. AI, trust, digital experiences, and data security are key issues for finance firms and their customers. So how to full-time desk workers feel about the benefits and obstacles of using generative AI to advance their careers??

According to a recent survey of over 4,000 full-time desk workers by by?Salesforce, while 54% of workers believe generative AI will advance their career, 62% say they don't have the skills to effectively and safely use the technology. Prior?research?shows that employee skills gap and trust are biggest impediments to business adoption of generative AI - more than 50% of sales and service teams do not know how to get the most value out of generative AI, according to a survey of over 2,000 sales and service professionals.

  1. There is optimism about the impact of generative AI?- 62% say generative AI will require a new set of skills at work and 56% say the technology will transform their role altogether.
  2. Generative AI will enable workers to focus on strategic goals?- 65% believe generative AI will allow them to focus on more strategic work.
  3. Generative AI productivity gains could lead to one month per year savings?- workers believe generative AI will save them five hours per week.
  4. While there is optimism about use of AI, lack of skills is key concern?- 40% say they don't know how to effectively use generative AI at work, and 53% don't know how to get the most value out of generative AI
  5. Trust in data is a major impediment for adoption of generative AI?- 43% say they don't know how to leverage generative AI using trusted data sources and while keeping first-party data secure.
  6. Most employees expect their employers to invest in future generative AI training?- this training should happen now. Two out of three workers (67%) expect their employer to provide opportunities to learn how to use generative AI, but nearly the same amount (66%) say their employer does not offer training on the technology.
  7. Companies are not providing sufficient generative AI employee training?- 62% of workers say they don't have the skills to effectively and safely use generative AI.
  8. Business leaders agree that employee AI training is not sufficient today?- 70% of business leaders don't believe their teams have the skills to effectively and safely use generative AI.
  9. Business leaders will invest in generative AI training to increase employee productivity and lower costs?- 82% of business leaders say generative AI will lower overall business costs.
  10. Most business leaders believe that investments in generative AI will increase company revenues?-80% of business leaders say generative AI will increase revenue.
