Morris Island.

Morris Island.

Once spanning 840 acres featuring a lighthouse built in the 1700's by the Colony of South Carolina, Morris Island has been ravaged by time. After heavy fighting during the Civil War a new lighthouse replaced the ruins of the first one in 1876. Surviving an earthquake, a cyclone, soil erosion caused by rising sea levels and even Hurricane Hugo, the Morris Island Lighthouse stands as a lonely beacon to the past.
