Morelia Facial Plastic Surgery Courses

I have been going to Morelia to do surgery and teach for over 30 years. The courses have been organized by the Davalos family beginning with Efrain Davalos over 60 years ago. The unique blend of comraderie and live surgery attracted many of the best surgeons in the United States and from elsewhere in the world. Maurice Cottle, Eugene Tardy, Richard Goode, Tony Bull, Regan Thomas and so many more returned to Morelia many times to teach and learn. These experiences forged a strong bond between the Mexican facial plastic surgeons and those of us from the United States and Europe. I don't know of another situation where a non-academic surgeon in a relatively small geographical area managed to create such an amazing educational experience. All of us and our patients have benefited from sharing techniques over the years. The Efrain Davalos Award was created to honor his multiple contributions. I am thankful that Roberto Davalos (Bobby) has choosen to continue his father's legacy to the benefit of a new generation of surgeons.
