"The more you know, the less you need." ~ Yvon Chouinard - Update from Lockhart River

Orange Sky Australia is proud to be part of this community led initiative to support improved health outcomes and education in the remote community of Lockhart River. Our purpose built truck PHYTHAM fitted with 2 washers and 3 dryers will very soon be washing clothes and linen managed by the people of Lockhart River.

Ben Knight and I were lucky enough to spend some time with this fella and his mother yesterday. In between posing for photos and laughing he would be non stop scratching his arms and legs. I wanted to keep on talking to him just so he would not scratch his skin. It's moments like this I am again reminded of how fortunate we are to be apart of a project like this and as a team how we make a significant impact on peoples life.

This is Flora. She loves Orange Sky. When we sat down and had a chat she talked about the pleasure she gets seeing the kids in their clean uniforms and feeling healthy. She enjoys helping people in the community and thinks Phytham is making a big difference in the Lockhart River. Can't wait to see this remote community program spread and refine to help even more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities all over Australia.
