The YES initiative divides the Northern Territory into 8 geographical ‘pods’ that reflect differences in various communities and language groups. The Alice Springs Regional Manager for the Department of Prime Minister & Cabinet consulted with about the original proposal suggested that we trial the project initially in both Alice Springs and Tennant Creek to test the efficacy of the program. I was then and am still very happy for that trial to begin as soon as practicable. Within the Alice Springs and Tennant Creek contexts, YES considers that is a great beginning to delivering the program more substantially around the entire jurisdiction over time. Within those two ‘pods’ relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) will be determined and established to enhance delivery outcomes as they reflect the needs of the particular regions. The project is designed to be delivered in other regional ‘pods’ of the NT following an evaluation of the pilot, a successful uptake of the program, and the improved commitment engagement levels of people who live in those communities.
