Azimut and Mont Royal Commence Maiden Drilling Program at Wapatik:
On May 24th, 2022 Azimut and Mont Royal Resources Limited (MRZ-ASX) announced the commencement of a maiden diamond drilling program on the Wapatik Property in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region of Québec, ~35km east of the Elmer Project (https://www.dhirubhai.net/pulse/azimut-exploration-inc-azm-v-more-interesting-results-eric-lemieux/?published=t). ?Ms. Brigitte Dejou is new project manager at Elmer.
?At least three holes (~1,000m) shall investigate highly conductive zones (identified by an electromagnetic (SQUID) ground survey) potentially related to intrusion hosted nickel-copper mineralization. The positions of the conductors are said to coincide with favourable geometries for sulphide accumulation within a mineralized ultramafic intrusion, as interpreted by a 3D magnetic inversion. Electromagnetic pulse surveys shall be performed in each drill hole completed by Chibougamau Drilling Ltd to maximize the search radius. The Wapatik Property straddles a 25-kim-long segment of largely underexplored part of the Lower Eastmain Greenstone Belt and covers ~11,000ha (220 claims) proximal to good infrastructure, including road access and power lines. Mont Royal can acquire a 50% interest from Azimut by spending $4M in exploration expenditures over 4 years and a further 20% interest with an additional investment of $3M and the delivery of a PEA (preliminary economic assessment).

Azimut and Mont Royal Discover High-Grade Nickel-Copper Massive Sulphide at Wapatik. Up to 2.68% Ni, 1.30% Cu and 0.09% Co over 3.3m - Follow-up Drilling Underway
?
Azimut announced on June 29, 2022 the discovery of nickel-copper massive sulphide mineralization during its maiden diamond drilling program on the Wapatik Property in Eeyou Istchee James Bay, NW Québec.??Azimut completed a maiden drilling program consisting of 4 diamond drill holes that totaled 1,068 m (holes WAP22-001 to 004). Recall on May 24th, 2022 Azimut and Mont Royal Resources Limited (MRZ-ASX) had announced the commencement of the maiden diamond drilling program. The drill program was designed to test conductors identified by an electromagnetic (SQUID) ground survey.
Preliminary results in DDH WAP-22-003 are:
1m @ 3.63% Ni, 0.48% Cu, 0.12% Co, and 1.1m@ 3.04% Ni, 0.75% Cu, 0.10% Co.
Within a larger interval that graded 3.3m @ 2.68% Ni, 1.30% Cu, 0.09% Co from 143.4 m to 146.7 m (~110m vertical depth).
The new mineralized interval corresponds to an electromagnetic conductor with good chances for expansion and is associated with an ultramafic intrusion. The massive to semi-massive sulphide mineralization displays brecciated textures containing angular to subangular fragments of ultramafic rocks and metasediments and has coarse-grained pentlandite, chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite. The mineralized interval suggests the potential for sulphide accumulation at the bottom of the intrusion with an interpreted basin-shaped geometry, supported by 3D magnetic inversion modelling.?We understand Pulse-EM borehole surveys by TMC Geophysics of Val-d’Or were performed and survey results revealed in-hole and off-hole anomalies, notably in hole WAP22-003.
A minimum 6-hole (1,050-m) follow-up drill program is already underway to further delineate the shape and extent of this discovery located ~35km east of the Elmer Project. Other attractive targets within the intrusion may also be drill-tested. The Wapatik Property, is under option to Mont Royal where it can acquire an initial 50% interest in the Property by spending $4M in exploration expenditures over 4 years and can earn a further 20% interest with an additional investment of $3M and the delivery of a preliminary economic assessment over 3 years. Azimut remains the operator.

Azimut Expands its Positioning for Nickel in the James Bay Region
?
Azimut reported on July 5, 2022 that it has substantially increased its land holdings for nickel targets at the scale of the Eeyou Istchee-James Bay region in Québec. This follows its systematic targeting strategy and supported by the proprietary AZtechMineTM technology and other exploration criteria, as well as its in-depth knowledge of the region.
Azimut continues to believe that the James Bay region (176,300 km2) is considerably underexplored for intrusion-related nickel deposits. Azimut has completed the acquisition by map designation of a total of 2,063 claims (107,000 ha) within 80 distinct blocks of mineral claims, including 1,012 recently acquired new claims. The claims form the James Bay Nickel Project wholly owned by Azimut and are selected through Azimut’s advanced processing of regional-scale geophysical, geochemical and geological data. Most of the targets correspond to kilometre-scale mafic to ultramafic intrusions, potentially representing subvolcanic conduits, dykes and sills intruded in volcano-sedimentary sequences. Most of the acquired targets display little or no past exploration history and could also host significant potential for copper, cobalt and platinum group elements.
Quebec remains one of the leading mining jurisdictions in the World and the James Bay region also benefits from high-quality infrastructure, including paved access roads, power lines and airports. A long-standing relationship between the Cree Nation and the Government of Quebec has been recently strengthened by the Grande Alliance agreement.
Azimut also disclosed that Ms. Krista Muhr has resigned as a member of the Company's Board of directors effective July 1, 2022.
