More Ways to Earn: American and Delta Expand Their Networks

In a move to improve travel options for their customers, American Airlines has partnered with JetSMART to strengthen the award-winning AAdvantage program, while Delta Air Lines is expanding its reach to Scandinavia through a new codeshare agreement. As a loyalty member of both carriers, I’m excited!

American Airlines x JetSMART

American Airlines is enhancing its AAdvantage program by partnering with JetSMART, allowing travelers to earn miles on all JetSMART flights to popular destinations in Chile, Argentina, and Peru. This follows a 2023 codeshare agreement and allows passengers to redeem AAdvantage miles for JetSMART flights starting later this year.

Earning rates vary by fare class, and elite members can earn extra bonuses for more chances to rack up rewards in South America—especially with American's recent partnership with Brazil's GOL Airlines.

Delta x Scandinavian Airlines

Delta and Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) have launched a codeshare agreement that will give travelers more options for flights between North America and Scandinavia. This new partnership allows passengers to earn and redeem SkyMiles and SAS EuroBonus points across both airlines.

Delta customers will gain access to 50 additional destinations in Northern Europe beyond SAS's hubs in Copenhagen, Oslo, and Stockholm, while SAS travelers can explore over 150 destinations in North America through Delta’s major hubs, including Atlanta and New York.
