Background

Koneta Hub is a South Sudanese-led organization that uses the power of Innovation and Design Thinking to build the capacities of young people through digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and leadership programs. The organization was formally registered in 2021 and has implemented several projects and programs supporting young people.?

In a first engagement after our partnership agreement with KONETA, Kush Bank is focused on two projects – Digital and Financial Inclusion training; and support of Small-Scale Women Enterprise – for the making of briquettes.?

The digital and financial inclusion project will be supported through the donation of computers and some opertional financial support as well as a quarterly training for the KONETA members and staff on Financial Management and ICT & Innovation with our Head of Innovation giving a guest lecture in one of the training sessions. Additionally, the bank will create one internship for a qualifying participant in our Innovation Department.?

Kush Bank’s commitment to youth and women inclusion in nation-development is important as it provides the financial leverage that such programs require but have a challenge accessing. Too often, youth and women groups find themselves in a space of having to give up their vision and passion towards nation building due to lack of financial knowledge or ability, lack of dedicated knowledge support and valuable networks in the corporate sector.?

In adopting SDG goal 8 that addresses decent work and economic growth, Kush Bank is getting involved in promoting sustained economic growth, higher levels of productivity among the youth, and technological innovation by encouraging entrepreneurship and job creation at the community level rather than waiting for hand-outs as has been the case in the history of the nation.?
