More than 157 candidates are invited to apply for a provincial nomination in British Columbia.

British Columbia's weekly invitation draw has extended invitations to apply to more than 157 individuals in the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). On June 14, 2022, the drawing was conducted. The only province in Canada that sends out invites every week is British Columbia.

Candidates are often asked to apply for BC's PNPs through general and specialized draws based on high-demand industries and professions. With minimum Skilled Immigration Registration System (SIRS) scores ranging from 76 to 123 depending on the pathway, 138 invitations were given in the general draw this week.

  • Skilled Worker with a minimum score of 109
  • Skilled Worker EEBC option with a minimum score of 123
  • International Graduate with a minimum score of 96
  • International Graduate-EEBC option with a minimum score of 106
  • Entry Level and Semi-Skilled with a minimum score of 76

Targeted draw results

Recently targeted draws have been held by the province of British Columbia (BC) for candidates who meet the requirements for a variety of National Occupational Classifications (NOCs) that are in demand in the province, including those in the healthcare and technology industries.

For targeted draws, SIRS scores may not need to be as high as the scores for those in the general draw pool. This week, each targeted category needed a minimum SIRS score of 60. BC invited the following number of candidates in their targeted draws:

  • 12 early childhood educators (NOC 4214)
  • 7 healthcare occupations
  • Less than 5 other priority occupations (NOCs 3114 and 3213)

Conclusion

By acquiring a Letter of Nomination from a province, candidates with Express Entry profiles can increase their CRS score by 600 points. Those attempting to get permanent residence status often benefit from having a high CRS score. Canada welcomed 932 PNP applicants with CRS scores of at least 796 to apply in the most recent Express Entry lottery, which was placed on June 8. Since Canada accepted 1,047 PNP candidates on March 2, this was the greatest PNP draw. Every two weeks on Wednesdays, the IRCC conducts draws.
