How do you create enterprise value through your corporate relationship infrastructure?
Part 2: LEADERSHIP
THE POWELL/(CAGAN) PRINCIPALS OF LEADERSHIP
Many years ago I saw a presentation on leadership. I was impressed that someone had taken the time to document some of ‘my’ most treasured business insights. Honestly, these are almost all ideas that I actually utilized over the years, but this presentation really articulated the concepts much better than I ever could have. I will admit, that at times I have not put some of them into practice as well as I could have. I hope you can benefit from them even more than I have.
The presentation was originally put together by Colin Powell when he was Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. I have always found these concepts to be just as applicable in business as Powell did in the military.
1. "Being responsible sometimes means pissing people off."
