Many people attempt to define great leadership.
It isn’t easy defining what "specific qualities" make certain people extraordinary leaders, because great leaders are so different.
During the pandemic countless job satisfaction studies revealed over 80% of all people surveyed were planning to seek new opportunities.? The primary reason, poor leadership. That trend has continued ever since.
Most people can easily identify what makes a leader "ineffective", but they struggle to articulate what makes someone a leader great.
It’s the little things great leaders do that make them exceptional.
During difficult times they are poised and confident.? They make wise decisions look effortless and steer the organization away from ice burgs while painting a clear picture of where they are headed.
They are constantly learning and open to honest feedback.? They don’t take things personally and demonstrate by example the expectations the organization places on human currency.
They gain our respect because they don’t show favoritism, and they stay focused and don’t waste our time bloviating in 3-hour meetings that amplify their egos.
Great leaders are rare and recognizing great leadership is essential for finding work with more meaning and less job dissatisfaction.
