Stick around for the Social Media News to Use below. This week's top five (or more!) most important updates to help you grow your brand.
The leaders at your organization should be posting on LinkedIn (and on other social media platforms, if possible).
If they’re already representing your brand at conferences, on stages, on podcasts, or in the media, you need to empower them to post on their social media channels as well.
BLUESKY: Do you have a profile? Find mine here.
?
FACEBOOK: This will streamline things for reporting purposes and help everyone speak the same language across the platforms.
?
INSTAGRAM: Very happy about this! No more “rug pull.”
?
INSTAGRAM: They’re messaging this as a solution for parents and teens, but it’s a great option for anyone with an account who’s not happy with the content served up to them. Keep in mind though that if you do a reset, it will essentially feel like a brand-new account and it will take IG a little while to learn what you like again and serve you relevant content.
?
INSTAGRAM:? Why you might want to remove inactive profiles.
?
LINKEDIN: A resource hub for building your personal brand.
?
LINKEDIN: I don’t see this feature on my profile yet, but I think it’s a fantastic add to the platform.
?
LINKEDIN: Have you seen it yet?
META: Let the sponsored posts begin.
PINTEREST: Helping us with those hard-to-shop-for people on our list this year.
?
SNAPCHAT: New control for parents.
SOCIAL MEDIA: Here’s one person’s outlook for next year. There will be many more of these crystal ball lists to come in the next several weeks.
?
SOCIAL MEDIA: This is where I publicly profess my absolute undying love for Pew Research Center. They continue to be a foundational source of truth when it comes to social media data and beyond. Something about their reports itches my brain. This is the results of their recent survey to find which platforms are the most popular in the U.S. Note: X is the only one that decreased.
?
THREADS: I’m curious how many people/brands are going to use Threads AND Bluesky. My prediction is that eventually this will shake out to where the majority of people who are looking at one or both of these as X alternatives will only end up sticking with one.
?
TIKTOK: Shop with Nicki Minaj.
TIKTOK: These go beyond social media.
BUSINESS BONUS
?
LEADERSHIP: “And leadership is not the only skill that women underreport relative to men: Women on LinkedIn are also 12% less likely to report negotiation skills but 9% more likely to highlight teamwork and 13% more likely to mention their support skills, even when occupying the same roles as their male counterparts.” “The words women use to define themselves have consequences, given that recruiters often use self-reported skills to identify potential candidates for leadership positions.”
?
LEADERSHIP: Maybe you’ve finally reached the point where you want your voice heard. You can’t hold it in anymore.
