“More Reports on Recent Acts and Episodes of Worldwide Christian Persecution,” by Andrew J. Schatkin
My dear Christians and non-Christians, and you of all faiths and thoughts and all views and opinions, I bid you and ask you to join with me in another voyage of intellectual discovery where those who may wish to engage in critical thinking and do not engage in and accept media lies, falsehoods, political code words, and hype can join in the effort to gain truth and facts amid the barrage of corruption and virtual darkness we are confronted with and befuddled and made effective fools of. I welcome you in this quest and task of attaining and coming to know intellectual honesty and honest discernment. Join with me in this voyage of discovery to get at and find what is valid and authentic in the world of confusion and to come with me in tearing apart the curtain of lies and darkness that hides from us what is truth and facts.
Today once again I will be speaking of the worldwide persecution of the church and Christian believers. The persecution is ongoing and the atrocities real and painful. I have previously before spoken of these persecutions in such areas as Nigeria where Christian are constantly killed; and in Pakistan where blasphemy laws can result in the incarceration and execution of Christians who speak a word against the prophet Muhammad; Algeria where churches are regularly closed; in Egypt where the Coptic church is under regular persecution; Saudi Arabia where a church cannot be built and a bible carried; and China where pastors are jailed and churches demolished and crosses removed. Today I will give a more recent report on the persecution of Christians and the church. The situation in India is critical. Since being elected prime minister, Modi has targeted the church. Five Christians were murdered in a two-month span. Here are some more examples of persecution in India of Christians. Kande Mudu, a 27 year old Hindu, was converted to Christianity 2018. The village elders demanded he abandon his Christian faith and he refused. Hindu radicals attacked his house and sexually assaulted his mother-in-law and on June 7. A mob came to his house and his body was found by the roadside the next morning dead. He was one of five Christians killed. Bijaya Mandavi's body was found dead on May 25 and Samaru Madkami was killed in June. He volunteered to lead Christian meetings when their pastor was unable to return because of persecution. Kande was killed on June 7 and Pastor Thado was killed on July 10 and Saman Munda, a 25-year-old woman, was killed on July 19. Other Christians outside of India have been persecuted. In Cuba a Christian mechanic was jailed after the authorities raided his shop. In Holguin, a house church was closed with sixty members. On June 6 five Christian families lost their homes in an arson attack. The country of Turkey is regularly expelling Christians. More than fifty Christians have been expelled from Turkey in the last 18 months in a campaign to clear the country of Christian influence. This included the wife of a Turkish pastor. In 2019 at least 35 Christian workers were expelled after their residency permits were revoked or denied and 16 others were forced to leave the country. In 2020 finally President Erdogan announced the sixth century church Hagia Sophia, a cathedral, would be converted back from a museum to a mosque and Erodogan also said the sixth century Chora church outside Istanbul would be converted in a similar fashion.
My dear friends colleague and Christian believers and you of all faiths and streams of thought, I ask you to join with me in not letting the world walk over the bodies and sufferings of these innocent Christian lives. I ask you to protest these brutal and cruel actions and incidents and my young people go to your professors and deans, and dear parents of our children, tell your children of these atrocities and contact your elected officials, assemblymen, state senators, and federal congressman and senators, and our new president, to protest and end these genocides. I ask you all are only the politically favored the persons regarded as politically correct to be a help and their lives preserved. Do these innocent Christian mean nothing to you? I urge and ask you to speak the truth in Christ who died for all humanity.
