More prompt ideas for ChatGPT

ChatGPT-4 is here.

Why is this relevant? Because GPT-4 can do more than version 3.5. It's 'the latest' version.

What can GPT-4 do? You're about to find out.

For now, you can only use GPT-4 on a paid account (€20/mth).

Bard (Google's ChatGPT) is also here. But... You can forget that for now. It's inferior to ChatGPT currently, see some hilarious tweets like this, this one .

I asked you in a poll what you'd like to see in this LaiFEhacker edition...

This is what you replied:

...so, here are 10 useful prompt ideas for ChatGPT

  1. Using a prompt generator for the perfect persona for your prompt. I have only tested it a bit, but it's a really useful starting point. The best output starts with the best input.
  2. Give me a Tony Robbins-style pep talk for a presentation about {...} I have tomorrow and use emoji. (thnx for the idea Dorianne )
  3. Give me synonyms for {...}, preferably simpler to understand for 3th graders
  4. [copy/paste the document in foreign language] Summarize... (max ±2000 word input for now)
  5. Give me 10 examples of funky yet professional names for a monthly kick-off meeting with my team of 15 people. Use alliteration.
  6. Rephrase {...} in a professional tone.
  7. [copy/paste long e-mail] What does this person want from me? How can I best respond to this in a formal yet playful way?
  8. [copy/paste document] What information is likely missing and why?
  9. Check this piece of Javascript code [insert code], there's an error in it, can you spot it? (Or kill it using Copilot X)
  10. A fun one: "You are now HustleGPT, my side hustle entrepreneurial friend and I have half an hour a day for us to work with to generate as much $$$ as possible. I'll act as your human world counterpart. I just found us $100,- in my drawer to start with! I won't do something illegal and I'd like to work from home but will do as you say. No manual labor. Pick one idea and give me an extensive and very detailed plan. But remember, make it viable in 30 minutes a day without any prior knowledge. What shall I do?"

...And some tips:

  • The GPT addon for Google Sheets and Google Docs. Check this 10m YT video, very useful in many cases: cleaning up data sets, classification of data, tagging data, marketing use, and translations. I really like it.
  • The YouTube summary Chrome extension. Summarize hours of video, without watching, based on the transcription. Saved me hours of not-watching irrelevant content already.
  • In conclusion: I'm working on a whitepaper with extensive GPT prompt ideas & documentation. Will share that one in the coming weeks.

And don't forget: Deepen your answers by replying to GPT!

Let me know if you use prompts I haven't mentioned yet.

Would you, the occasional user, start using GPT-4 today?

  • No. You will probably still use Default (GPT-3.5), because it's 5x+ faster and has no use cap.
  • Yes. It's more thorough (smarter) in understanding context and tailoring the feedback. So it would definitely be useful in situations where you would want smarter and more coherent output.

...and this is what you need to know about GPT-4 vs. GPT-3.5

What you've read in the media (or not), and some more.

  • We can now choose what model to use (see image)
  • GPT-4 is currently way slower than the predecessor (3 / 3.5), seems like 4-5x slower to me.
  • GPT-4 is much better in understanding context than 3.5. Which helps a lot by creating more depth in the output in order to make it useful.
  • GPT-4 is not easily accepting image inputs, although Twitter, YouTube, and other media feature posts that it would. I've extensively tried to manipulate prompts in chat but didn't get to it. Seems like the first 'hacks' from early GPT-4 users are patched in chat, and only the 'nerd' users use it via the openai-API at the moment.

  • GPT-4 did recreate the famous game Pong (see images below)
  • GPT-4 can create apps and websites, even from images, but it's not as easy as it seems and still needs some human help. We probably won't use ChatGPT to do this at this moment, due to the specific knowledge still needed. However, it's smart.
  • ChatGPT-4 will process more input per prompt than 3.5. GPT-4 accepts 4096 tokens, whereas GPT-3.5 accepts 2048.

...and some other AI stuff that might be for you

  • Analyze business ideas with VenturusAI, which creates AI reports based on your awesome new business ideas. Kill or cheer on your (friends') ideas instantly.
  • Create enticing images, just like the featured images of my LinkedIn posts, with Midjourney. It has released an update this week (v5) and it's (still) free. (for AI beginners: it's not ChatGPT??). And you can create perfect Midjourney prompts with imiprompt.
  • Use symptomchecker when ill, which will output a diagnosis for your health situation. It uses ChatGPT. To me, it's not of extra use because I'm crafty with ChatGPT, but maybe it's insightful for you.

Reply below?? about what was useful and what wasn't. Thanks!??

Great article, Reinier! And thank you for featuring VenturusAI in your list.

En dan geen relevant midjourney plaatje valt me BIJzonder tegen
