More Offshore Wind Giants Move Forward

News and updates on large projects and wind turbines continue this week with a dispute related to a large-scale offshore wind farm in the UK now resolved and the world's biggest wind turbine being installed in China.

China Three Gorges' (CTG's) giant wind turbine installation vessel (WTIV)?Baihetan installed a 13 MW offshore wind turbine in the waters off Pingtan, Fujian Province, last week and moved on to the installation of a 16 MW wind turbine in the same area – the world's first wind turbine of this capacity to be installed.

In the UK, the 2.6 GW Hornsea Four offshore wind farm is only a couple of weeks away from receiving the Secretary of State's decision on whether to grant the project consent. Several days ago, the developer ?rsted and BP reached an agreement on the previously disputed overlap area between the Hornsea Four BP's Endurance carbon storage sites, clearing a major hurdle for both projects.
