8 months ago, I wrapped up a 35-year run with Verizon and committed I would take some time for myself to pause, breathe deeply into life and simply be.??And, what an amazing experience it has been.?I’ve had time to:

Reflect on my time at Verizon and what made me successful, what leadership means to me, what I’m passionate about, what values are non-debatable, why I love the art of winning, the huge potential of ESG done right and how the relationship we all have with our employers has changed over the years.

Read the WSJ & NYT daily, reading the entirety of the article and not just the headlines.

Spend time with friends and family; I’m particularly grateful to spend time with my mother, treasuring the best of who she despite Alzheimer’s stealing a piece of her every day.?And the gift of spending time with my husband and children, that’s priceless.

Be the healthiest version of myself.?I’m doing yoga, walking, skiing, hiking, and training to climb Mt. Sopris this Summer.??Our new home in Colorado sits at the base of this spectacular mountain; nearly 14k feet high.?

Frame Chapter 2. The world feels particularly tumultuous right now and yet, I’ve had so many incredible conversations with leaders who are guiding their teams to deliver exceptional outcomes not just for their shareholders but for their employees, customers, and society at large.?I am confident that with the right leadership we will use technology to drive meaningful and sustainable change in education, healthcare, sustainability, human rights, and world peace.

Simply put, I’m learning to thrive not simply survive.?The lens in which I view the world has changed.?My priorities have changed and yet, I remain passionate and committed to using my skills, experience, and urgency to play my role in making the world in which we live a better place.?

I’m enjoying working with incredibly intelligent, purpose driven, passionate leaders at John Deere (NYSE:?DE), AE Industrial, York Space Systems, Aptiv (NYSE: APTV), Mission Possible and being a champion with JOURNEY.?I continue to explore other interesting opportunities to engage with companies and teams who share my values and recognize that work is only one dimension of life.?Day by day, I’m answering the question so aptly posed by Mary Oliver in her poem, The Summer Day.....what will I do with this one wild and precious life?
