I don't see my initial comment asking how that remarkable increase was calculated. I did get this from my friends in N.Y. Here’s one critique by a NYC teacher -- https://garyrubinstein.wordpress.com/2015/05/19/you-reeka-math/ The fact that there were increases in the proficiency levels of NY students last year compared to the year before had nothing to do with Eureka – but with the fact that the state instituting shorter and untimed tests and lowered the raw scores needed for proficiency. In 11 out of 12 exams, not only the total raw scores but the PERCENT of raw score points needed out of the total fell for proficiency. I and others wrote a lot about this over the summer: https://nycpublicschoolparents.blogspot.com/2016/08/evidence-grows-we-are-entering-new-era.html https://nycpublicschoolparents.blogspot.com/2016/08/update-on-growing-evidence-of-state.html
