No more GaGa Over Blue Tick on Social Media

No more GaGa Over Blue Tick on Social Media

So finally, Elon Musk did it! Today morning on 21st April, Twitter shocked celebrities, politicians, cricketers and other famous personalities when they found the blue tick from their profile missing.

Last month, Elon Musk announced they would take away the blue tick on 1st April. It didn't happen then, but after 20 days, his announcement came right!

How do you see Blue Tick from now on?

Blue Tick on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram is no more the status symbol or celebrity/famous badge.

Meta also announced the launch of a blue tick subscription. In India, the wait list for it is already open.

With the introduction of Twitter Blue, you expect a blue tick with your name and the app's extra features.

Meta will do the same. With their Meta paid subscription, a user can get the blue tick and extra features.

This is not a new thing in the social media industry. For years now, LinkedIn has been offering premium subscription-based options. Users can do much more with a premium profile, which is impossible with a free profile.

Just a couple of days ago, Twitter changed the notification message on every blue tick holder. It said this account is verified because they are subscribed to Twitter Blue and Verified their phone number.

What do you get with a Twitter Blue subscription?

  • With a blue tick, the features you get are,
  • 2F authentication
  • Tweet edit option (for 30 minutes after the tweet)
  • Bookmark folder
  • Top articles
  • Undo Tweet

A great advantage in SEO

The Top Articles feature is a great way to plan SEO activity. Last December, Twitter shut down Revue, a newsletter platform. This was an initiative by Twitter to help people monetize their articles. In two years, this platform could not become popular among content writers.

With the 'Top Articles' feature, Twitter Blue subscribers can now see blog links from the accounts they follow. They can also see the blogs shared by the accounts their followers follow!

By clicking on the 'Read article' button, one can go to the website. This will help a good amount of traffic on the website.

Enjoy the changing social media infrastructure!

With paid tick marks and extra features offered by social media, I feel we all need to change the way we have seen these features and options. Try to find what thing can benefit you, and if you feel it is worth spending money, subscribe to it, and if not, enjoy the free version!
