More Fake Profiles on LinkedIn

Continuing saga of reaching out to talk to fake profiles and seeing how they respond and just how long it takes for them to be taken down. https://www.dhirubhai.net/pulse/fake-profiles-linkedin-jesse-tayler-7bcge/

Today's conversation is with a generous recruiter who simply needs my phone number for his "boss" who really needs to hire people "just like you" -

We always take note of the join dates and various hints of changes that often suggest account Hijacking as the culprit. Abandoned accounts with weak or stolen passwords.

Apparently he's already told his excited employer and she's satisfied!

What more would a random cold outreach need to know!

Just a WhatsApp or Telegram away! No need for communication within a secured community where accountability is backed by profiles...fake profiles of course, but at least it's not so obvious!

I've been looking for a new vocation in the field of oil transport from Rotterdam to various nations.

I found this post searching for scam in the browser. I am receiving at least 10 private messages daily from fake accounts. Once I did play the game and ended up talking to the "boss" in WhatsApp. I still don't understand what it is that they can achieve with that scam technique. Do you guys know?

I've noticed that some of the fake accounts have taken to "liking" comments, then following your account, then sending you a connect request a couple days later. They're adopting behavior patterns that are more similar to what humans do, in order to slide in under the radar.

I've been lucky, haven't had any obvious fakes come across. I do get cold sales spam about once a week though. Chatted with Brandon Lee about that a few weeks back, and has abated since. I wonder if perhaps talking about cold sales spam is like an inverse Voldemort, the more you talk about it the more it goes away?
