A September 5, 2024 publication on the Blue Shield California’s News Center web page by Peter Long (chief strategy officer at Blue Shield) underscores that healthcare administrators are living nowhere near a patient-centered planet.?
That the article annoys in regular fashion with offensive buzz terms and a healthcare executive speaking overly generally, with no real innovative ideas or expressed understanding of the novel technologies they comment upon is less offensive than the fact that they are pointing to healthcare treatment data that is deceptive.?
When Long comments on Sword Health as a successful digital solution, did anyone provide him with the fact that the Nature Digital Medicine study has had no controls??
Most offensive is that this recent study is claiming evidence of effective tele-physical rehab programs across socioeconomic cohorts when it is highly plausible that back pain among all “social deprivation index” (SDI) cohorts improved NOT because of treatment but because of the tincture of time.?
As every emergency doctor knows from the common training adage: among back pain patients with slipped lumbar discs, 90% of this back pain self-resolves?in 9 months......
