More Engagement = More Clicks on "see more" Button of Your LinkedIn Posts

A "see more" button on any LinkedIn post is the gateway of engagement.
Still we don't pay proper attention towards it.
All we care about is how to write the post, white spaces, personalisation and what not.
But none of the other engagement tips make any sense if you're unable to compel your readers to click on "see more" button on your LinkedIn posts.
So your FIRST responsibility is to write initial 2-3 lines of your LinkedIn post in a way that your readers find themselves clicking on "see more" button.
Now the question is,
HOW?
Well the answer is use psychology.
Like everything else, there's a psychology behind "see more" button.
Your readers are very well aware of the tips and tricks a content creator uses to grab their attention towards their piece of content.
That's why when you start a post with a question like,
"Do you know how to post consistently on LinkedIn?"
Your readers may not click on "see more" to read your post.
Why?
- It's obvious
They have been reading such kind of posts a lot. They know that you posted such question so that they can click on see more to read your complete post.
Their doubt remains: It can be a clickbait to trick me reading a not-so-sure-value-adding post.
There's no surety that they will get to know some interesting or new concept out of it.
Moreover, the attention span is merely 5 seconds.
So there's no assurance that the reader will actually give much thought to your post if it has an obvious beginning.
- It's boring
With the increasing number of posts on LinkedIn every day, standing out has become a necessity.
If you're starting to tell the same story which others have already done telling, you're making it boring for your readers.
But. But. But.
If you're a brand already, then your readers stop doubting and start believing. They read your post regardless of the clickbait. Yes, that's the power of a sound brand.
The Solution
Just one!
Do NOT show all your cards at once.
Bet on atleast one surprising element.t
Include atleast one element which makes your readers think, "Oh, I didn't think of it. That came as a surprise!"
Begin your LinkedIn posts with the lines which leave no scope of 'doubt' or 'boredom' for your readers.
Include the interesting yet "I don't know how it'll lead" kinda phrases.
When you don't leave any possibility for your readers to evaluate that whether it's a trick for them to click on "see more", you'll find your readers clicking on "see more".
That's why begin your posts with intriguing sentences which come out of blue without any context. Like,
I was watching one of the famous TV series on Netflix when I got a call from an unknown number.
Now ain't you intrigued to know WHAT NEXT after reading this sentence?
That's the game, folks!!!!!
That sentence gives no clue to readers for why and how you've begun your post unless they click on "see more" to understand the context.
Also it's neither obvious nor boring.
ALWAYS remember, nobody wants to get sold.
Whether it's through your words or any product/ service you're selling. nobody wants to get the impression of being tricked.
This is the reason why posts related to entertainment get so much boost.
Memes, funny videos, jokes get tons of engagement. Isn't it?
They always carry a I-don't-know-what-may-happen-next element.
You maybe wondering,
"This is BS! No-one ever do that kind of analysis paralysis while reading the 'beginning' of a post. They just click on "see more". I just click on it."
Well do one thing.
Next time when you read a post by clicking on "see more", stop right there and think why did you do it?
Next time when you skip a post without even clicking on "see more", stop right there and think why didn't you read that post?
You'll get your answer.
By reading a piece of content through a reader's perspective and as a writer's perspective.
Because both are way different.
Understand that difference.
And then include the same difference in your posts to create a difference in your content engagement!
That was all about the beginning of a LinkedIn post to get more engagement.
