More digital and more sustainable to tackle the challenges of the 21st century

Hello to everyone! We are back with plenty of updates in the latest edition of our newsletter ??.

Last week we celebrated World Environment Day and World Oceans Day, both important dates in the calendar to help raise awareness about clean energy and a more sustainable future.

We have a lot of updates related to #sustainability:

?? Iberdrola was recognized by the United Nations Global Compact for our steadfast commitment to sustainability: covering key areas such as climate action, the defense of Human Rights and green finance.

?? We received recognition from AENOR for our sustainable energy generation: our pioneering commitment to clean energy in terms of quality, the environment, asset management and occupational health and safety were endorsed.

?? Recognized as a climate leader by USA Today: Avangrid was once again named as one of the U.S. companies who have achieved the greatest reduction in core emissions intensity between 2020 and 2022.

More digitisation for green growth ??

The energy transition and the digital transition are directly linked. Smarter systems and technology are boosting both clean energy and the way we manage and protect our natural resources. We talked about these topics and much more at our ‘Digital Summit’??, which celebrated its tenth anniversary in our company.

At the meeting we analyzed emerging trends and heard more about exciting innovation projects across the company, one of Iberdrola’s key strategic pillars. We are investing 290 million euros this year to boost digitization across all of our business areas.

This commitment is designed to ensure that our business will remain at the forefront of clean energy in the future ????, and we will continue to invest in innovation, in the latest technology and in digital advances as the energy transition progresses.

Renewables around the world: France ??

Our major offshore wind project in France is running at full power. Saint-Brieuc, Iberdrola's first offshore wind farm in the country and the second in France, is now 100% operational. The whole team is proud to have successfully completed a challenge of this magnitude!

After more than a decade of work to make it a reality, today the Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm is already providing clean energy to 850,000 people in Brittany and helping to drive the global energy transition ??.

Huge congratulations to all the teams at Iberdrola France , Iberdrola Renewables and our suppliers who have made this possible ????.

To end the newsletter today we offer more congratulations ?? – this time to our colleagues at ScottishPower , who have been recognized for the promotion of women's football at the UK's Women's Football Awards.

That's it for today ??. As always, you can follow us on other social networks like X, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Facebook, Pinterest or Youtube. Thank you very much for reading us ??

Flogging a Dead Horse! Without 100% environmentally friendly and cost-effective storage options, renewable energies have no future. We have developed several solutions specifically for wind turbines that are significantly more cost-effective, low-maintenance, and free of toxic substances (Neodym) and especially SF6. They are also equipped with a patented compressed air or gravity storage system. Here is one of them: https://youtu.be/hy_kFKyROLo?si=4Slf49Lh0YLXcMQ5
