Be more decisive in 5 steps

One of the crucial issues we have to deal with in our personal or professional life, is how to make decisions and whether these decisions when made, are the right ones in order to make us feel better in all the goals we have set.

Many people unfortunately are struggling when trying to make decisions, since they are afraid of making mistakes or they don’t feel confident in themselves.

In order to succeed and get over all your weaknesses, you could follow these 5 steps that will improve your level of decision making for good :

1. Focus on less important and everyday decisions that you should make, like what to wear tomorrow, who you have to call within the day, or what is the perfect location to go out.

These are decisions that any mistakes may occur, won't have any significant effect, but you must test yourself in acting fast and decide without second thoughts, following your heart and instinct at the same time, especially when it refers to your personal life.

By increasing the speed of taking this kind of decisions you are improving gradually your self-esteem.

2. Think about real risks apart from your own life.

When you are supposed to make a decision, many factors are involved and some of them are related to the external environment that you cannot control, like a pandemic era, we are going through right now.

Try to isolate these factors as something given and move to the things that are mostly related to your own life.

You cannot postpone or cancel everything because of a hard time, without examining alternative ways to cope with.

So it is better to behave like being a member of a community that is facing exactly the same problems and you need to go on with your life with the appropriate adjustments.

3. Don't ask for reassurance.

Trying to confirm everything in every aspect of your life and depend always on certain people to get reassurance or recognition, does not lead anywhere and probably the decision when it comes, will not be the suitable one.

You should always consider yourself as important, especially in your professional life and you don't need to take always a green light in order to move forward .

Try your own tiny or greater steps and get the reassurance from your own way of life and make the decision that will change you for the better.

4. Mind control

This term may sound strange or metaphysical but it is the right way to control your inner thoughts.

Focus on the things and goals that are really important to you in the long run. Then write down in your laptop or in a piece of paper, which are the steps that will get you there. 

Push yourself to write as much as you can in the most organized way.

Then try to concentrate on these tasks and make up your mind in fulfilling these goals under a specific timeplan.

5. Create groups of trust

In order to mitigate the risk of your decisions and control the level of uncertainty that already exists in your life, you should also take care of your friends, partners and peers, creating groups of trust.

This means that you can always have a sincere and trustworthy opinion about the options you have in your life and which path to choose according to the given circumstances.

People we really trust and love, are normally the ones that can lead us to the right decision even when we believe that we are lost in probabilities and multiple scenarios.

In order to conclude, it is obvious that each one of us, is a unique and different personality, which means that the level of making decisions and the quality of the results, are differentiating from time to time or for every individual.

In any case, if we follow certain rules and we organize ourselves to be guided by specific norms, then we can definitely improve our life and be more decisive in every aspect of it.
