To be more Creative - Learn to Pause

Greetings my friends. Yes I know I'm late with the newsletter. My apologies for that. Today I thought to be the exhibition myself and write from my own point of view without any references, because I have many thoughts I believe we creative entrepreneurs share.
There is a lot happening in the world. Pandemics, wars, work, love life and studies just to name a few. In the midst of all of this the world seems to be demanding more and more of us everyday. The noise around us makes it hard to focus and I would state that focus is the core element of creativity. We need to be able to get into that state of mind called flow where new things come to us with an ease. But it's easier said than done.
I've found myself often starting something, but having a hard time following through. This newsletter is just one of those examples where I already lag behind in delivering one text a week. Is it about my poor ability to get stuff done? Is it about priorities? Or do I just have to much on the table? I believe it is a sum of all of these and so much more.
As in everything there is strenghts and weaknesses in Creative Entrepreneurship. Did you know that humans are less strong than animals the same size as us? Did you know that the main reason for that is that our energy is utlized to somethin else, something we call the brain? This brain is the factory of creativity and its an energy consuming monster.
As creativity eats up all the energy we get tired, still our work requires that creativity and we can't just stop using our brains, because then our jobs won't get done. Suddenly, we are facing a dilemma.
So how can we keep ourselves fully charged, so that we can keep on being creative day after day? I honestly don't know and that's why I'm lagging behind. I'm eager to find out why and thus in the future my texts will focus alot on the subtopic - how to lead a creative mind?
My first step was to take a timeoff at easter and go back to my favorite place with my favorite people - my cabin. A place in the middle of the forest situated on the shore of a lake. Some say it's summer soon, but for me it was a winter wonderland. A easter holiday filled with sauna, ice swimming, good food and calm.

So what did I learn? To be more creative we need to learn to pause. Stepping back takes as two steps forward and we forget that way to often. The brain needs to reboot to get room for new creative ideas. I got many for this newsletter aswell and what I started with will not be the future. I found myself enjoying more writing through my own point of view, instead of citing what others have found out.
Let me know what you think about all of this and also this apporach
Finally, to quote the Finnish radio host and entrepreneur Jaajo Linnonmaa the three () tips for success are as follows:
Until next week!

2 年Relatable thoughts! Sadly, I wasn't able to take proper time off during the Easter "holidays". I was planning to finalize some tasks and now trying to push them through in the evenings. ?? Had some classic luck. A couple of hospital cases (not me) occurred during the four days, I blew my car's tire on Friday, which naturally had to be replaced on Saturday, and in general, just couldn't sleep properly. Looking forward to the coming couple of weekends already!

2 年Ronny Eriksson this is so true! By the way, I've also learned about how important is to pause during my Easter brake. Right now I am taking a refreshment for energy, recharging my power and mind and a few days off from work. Family issues and war in my home-country forced me to think what's important in life... To keep up with performance and feeling happy sustainably, I am doing something fun and keeping up with my routines - morning academic writing & creativity, focus on the work I love doing - my research, sports - skiing, tennis, kickboxing, meeting friends and new people.
