There is nothing so practical as a good theory." Kurt Lewin
In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is." - Yogi Berra
Conscious business is not a theory — it is a way to work and live. With each module of the program I will add examples of coaching sessions where I help clients find more conscious ways to deal with their problems. The cases are based on real events, but modified to protect anonymity and confidential information.

5 年I like the idea of the reversal method of mastering leadership. All of us had ups and downs during our carrier, but while being on top, we can easily forget the problems and issues we had on our way. It is so important to carefully store and use our lessons-learnt to foster our Conscious Leadership.??

5 年I appreciated that Fred made an effort to remind the coachee what to not do what bothered him in his supervisor in the first place. From my side, I think when I release individuals from leadership positions or demote them, I will do more to get their input for the future of the workgroup.

5 年It is a interesting perspective when it is mentioned about reversity. I wouldn't think about how about my counterpart's perspective when I′m in an difficult situation, definitely I need to consciously ensure I won′t repeat the same ting I would complain for.

5 年The first piece of learning, which was not to make the same mistake yourself in the future seemed obvious, but I had forgotten it by the end, and when Fred reminded the coachee about it, it was a lightbulb moment for me - it's the most important thing a leader can do, after all, for the team and the organisation - make it safe to speak up. My other thought was that I liked the application of the task, relationship and self model. Resolution for the individual happens when the integrity part - the self - and the task part - the effectiveness part are brought together through the relationship part working well.?

5 年I very much liked the way Fred tracked what was said to confirm accuracy, and asked key questions to draw out how the gentleman felt and saw the situation from different angles, especially first person and second person. The principle of Reversibility, where you envision doing what someone has done that you didn't like to insure that your future actions are more fruitful in relationships, was a powerful idea also.
